Superior Colliculus is an artist from Utah. Her/his work focuses on themes of anatomy, nature, love, death, humor, and imperfection. With a deep connection to nature, she/he has been inspired by walking and being outdoors. During this time she/he has encountered various playing cards in the street and believes they contain messages from the Universe. She/he loves that card games bring people together and wanted to make a deck that fosters love. Her/his Royalty Lover and Friends playing cards are a representation of various relationships in her/his life. I offer people the ability to color my sketches because research has shown that just 30 minutes of coloring results in mindfulness, and reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.

Her/his photography is mostly composed of double, triple, and quintuple exposures (but also some single exposures). She/he likes to experiment with multiple exposures because it allows her/him to utilize her/his creativity to the fullest extent.

Superior Colliculus’s paintings are renditions of her/his teenage and childhood drawings. She/he likes to tap into their inner child and recreate her/his drawings in a colorful and creative way. She/he believes connecting to the inner child is essential for creating wonder, creativity, happiness, and balance in one’s life.

Her/his tarot cards are images based on the Rider-Waite tarot deck and contain imagery for both the upright and reversed meanings. Decks are expected to be completed and printed in November 2023.
